What is a Nurse Practitioner?
Nurse Practitioners have a graduate degree in nursing and can legally examine patients, diagnose, illness, prescribe medication, order and interpret diagnostic studies and imaging (lab tests, EKG’s,immunization, etc.), provide prenatal and family planning services (IUD’s, well-childcare, etc.),perform minor procedures (suturing, casting, etc.) and nearly all primary health services concerning health maintenance and management.
