HEALTH SERVICES INTEGRATION FUND (HSIF) COORDINATOR
Full Time (Temporary)
Term – March 2025 to March 31, 2026
Monday to Friday – 7 hours/day
Wabasca, Alberta
Bigstone Health Commission is seeking a passionate and highly motivated individual to assume the role of the HSIF Coordinator. This position will conduct various administrative and program management tasks while working with our external government partners and be the primary access point in coordinating mental health delivery models for increased access and equitable delivery of services for Bigstone Cree Nation members and all individuals living in the region. Duties and Responsibilities:
- Plan, coordinate, and facilitate special projects, programs and activities that enhance community health needs
- Liaise with clients to identify and define project requirements, scope, and objectives to ensure their health needs are being met
- Work in collaboration with Alberta Health Services organizations, community, and other external agencies
- Initiate, develop and explore opportunities for greater collaboration, partnerships, and linkages with health care providers
- Maintain work priorities and workplans that collaborate with the project or program to ensure all deliverables are being met
- Establish a steering committee and working group
- Commence a community consultation process with available mental health services
- Obtain and analyze data from community feedback
- Prepare proposals, reports, and project updates
- Must be able to travel
- Other duties as required
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
- Must have a comprehensive understanding of current health issues for Indigenous peoples
- Strong organizational, communication and decision-making skills
- Strong attention to detail and a high level of accuracy in completing tasks
- Strong project management and development skills
- Demonstrate ability to maintain privacy and confidentiality
- Advanced computer skills in Microsoft Office Suite
Education and Experience:
- Post-secondary education (Certificate or Diploma) related to Health Services field and/or Business Administration and/or equivalent
- Nechi Institute Project Management Training Certificate is an asset
- Minimum 2 years of experience in the Health Services field
- Previous experience working for a First Nation community would be an asset
