NORTH ZONE– Recent weather has cooled lake and reservoir water temperatures to such an extent that blue-green algae is no longer a health concern, including in 21 bodies of water in North Zone, all of which had previously been placed under blue-green algae (cyanobacteria) bloom advisories.
Effective immediately, Alberta Health Services has lifted the blue-green algae (cyanobacteria) bloom advisories for:
- Paddle River Dam Reservoir
- Devil’s (Matchayaw) Lake
- Lac Bellevue
- Mons Lake
- Bonnie Lake
- Fawcett Lake
- Steele (Cross) Lake
- Hutch lake
- Calling Lake
- Goose Lake
- Stoney Lake
- Lac La Biche Lake
- Kehewin Lake
- Garner Lake
- Thunder Lake
- Lac La Nonne
- Lessard Lake
- Vincent Lake
- Moose Lake
- Baptiste Lake
- Isle Lake
As always, visitors and residents are reminded to never drink or cook with untreated water directly from any lake or reservoir, at any time.
