COMMUNITY & PUBLIC HEALTH MANAGER
Full Time (Permanent)
Monday to Friday – 8 hours/day
Wabasca, Alberta
Bigstone Health Commission in Wabasca, Alberta is seeking an experienced and competent Community & Public Health Manager to join our talented health team. The ideal candidate will have senior management experience and provide respectful patient-focused care to the members of Bigstone Cree Nation. Duties and Responsibilities:
• Provide nursing care for the community members within the geographical location.
• Lead a talented team with all managerial duties; planning, program delivery, staff management.
• Provide Assessments for clients’ needs.
• Organize and manage a caseload and possess effective decision-making skills, must also be able to work collaboratively with other health care providers and stakeholders.
• Responsible for the planning, coordination and evaluation of Community and Public Health Services provided in the assigned area of responsibility.
• Develop and maintain healthy relationships with the public, health center staff and related professional groups.
• Other duties as required.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
• Must exhibit a high degree of professionalism while maintaining strict confidentiality.
• Knowledge of health records and proper documentation.
• Possess advanced computer skills in Microsoft Office Suite & Electronic Medical Systems.
• Strong problem solving and critical thinking skills.
• Excellent organizational, communication and interpersonal skills
• Excellent clinical knowledge and skills.
• Passionate about working with people.
• Must be willing to relocate to Wabasca if not local.
• Must be willing to travel as needed.
Education and Experience:
• Post-secondary education (Degree or Masters) in Science in Nursing from a recognized institution.
• Registered and a member of good standing with the College of Registered Nurses of Alberta (CRNA) and must be able to provide proof of certification.
• 1-year minimum of experience in Community & Public Health and Homecare Nursing
• 4-year + of Managerial experience is an asset
• Must have a valid class 5 drivers’ license.
