CUSTODIAN
One (1) Permanent Part Time Position
Monday to Friday – 4 hours/day
Wabasca, AB
The Bigstone Health Commission in Wabasca, AB is seeking an experienced Custodian to join our talented team. This is a rewarding opportunity if you have an appreciation for First Nation culture, a desire for continuing professional development and enjoy the support and collaboration from our multidisciplinary team and various other professionals and agencies.
Duties and Responsibilities:
• General Janitorial and Maintenance duties including sweeping, mopping, dusting, vacuuming, window cleaning, sanitizing floors, washrooms, etc.
• Collect and dispose of trash from the buildings
• Sanitize surfaces: doorknobs/handles, handrails, countertops, tables, chairs, phones, other common items
• Reports observations regarding malfunctions, defects, repair and maintenance and unsafe conditions of the building, fixtures, and equipment
• Perform seasonal cleaning
• Ensuring the office building is secure prior to leaving the building
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
• Physical ability to lift heavy objects, stand for long periods of time, etc.
• Ability to follow proper cleaning and sanitation instruction on all cleaning and equipment supplies
• Ability to follow instructions concerning various chemicals
• Knowledge of proper cleaning and sanitation procedures
Education and Experience:
• High School Diploma is an asset
• Experience in a Custodial/Janitorial role considered an asset
• Reliable transportation
• Valid WHMIS Certification
