Bigstone Health Commission in Edmonton, AB, is seeking an experienced, highly motivated, and dependable Health Benefits Adjudicator to join our talented Health Team. Duties and Responsibilities:
- Review and manually adjudicate health benefit requests for medical supplies & equipment, vision, and mental health.
- Act as an advocate for all BCN members of the health benefits program.
- Work with the members and service providers in a pleasant and efficient manner.
- Provide program information, advice, and assistance to members and service providers.
- Assist with invoice preparation, accounts receivable tracking, and related documentation.
- Manually record and track all requests and claims in detailed monthly reports.
- Maintain database and provider files.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
- Must have excellent interpersonal skills and telephone etiquette.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment.
- Proven ability to manage competing priorities in a fast‑paced setting.
- High attention to detail and accuracy.
- Working knowledge of invoicing and accounts receivable processes.
- Dependable, organized, and accountable.
Education and Experience:
- Office Administration certificate/diploma or a minimum of two (2) years of office experience.
- Minimum 2 years of work experience in an office setting is a requirement.
- Previous experience in a medical or health‑related environment.
- Knowledge of the Non-Insured Health Benefits program is an asset.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications.
- Valid Standard First Aid with CPR certification.
