MENTAL WELLNESS CRISIS TEAM SUPPORT WORKER

The Bigstone Community Wellness department is seeking an experienced Mental Wellness Crisis Team Support Worker, to join our talented Health Team in Calling Lake, Alberta. This is a rewarding opportunity if you have an appreciation for Indigenous culture, a desire for continuing professional development and enjoy the support and collaboration from our multidisciplinary team and various other professionals and agencies.
Duties and Responsibilities:
· Provide immediate response to crisis situations in communities.
· Act as advocates for individuals, community members requesting mental health support.
· Assess crisis situations, provide follow up post crisis support, and connect to appropriate care.
· Provide program information, resources and assistance to service providers.
· Create and participate in working partnerships with mental health agencies / committees to ensure effective delivery of the crisis team program services in community.
· Willing to travel to provide program services in Wabasca, Calling Lake and Chipewyan Lake.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
· Strong organizational, communication and decision-making skills
· Strong attention to detail and a high level of accuracy in completing tasks.
· Demonstrate ability to maintain privacy and confidentiality.
· Must possess excellent communication skills, both written and oral
Education and Experience:
· Availability to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as requested
· Willing to take any necessary training that is required
· Ability to speak and understand Cree language and culture is an asset
· Willing to travel within Alberta
· Must be dependable and reliable
· Class 5 Drivers License
· Standard First Aid with CPR
