One (1) Temporary Full Time Seasonal
Wabasca, Alberta
Bigstone Ltd, an entity within Bigstone Group of Companies in Wabasca, Alberta is seeking a full-time temporary operator to join our talented team. This position requires an experienced, highly motivated, and dependable individual to assist with our gravel pit operations.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Loading & hauling gravel
- Demonstrate skill and experience in the proper operation and maintenance of variety of light and heavy equipment, with safety practices in the operating of that equipment and two-way radio
- Daily Inspections on equipment and trucks
- Perform preventive equipment maintenance, to ensure proper operating conditions
- Report any malfunctions and repair requirements to the supervisor
- Enter daily logs/ documentation pertaining to daily duties
- Labour work as needed
- The ability to work alone and follow all safety procedures
- Other duties in pit operations as assigned by the supervisor’
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
- Must be a self-starter and able to work without supervision
- Decision making skills and problem-solving skills
- Effective verbal and listening communication skills
- Ability to manage time, multitask and prioritize
- Ability to read and follow written and oral instructions
- Ability to work effectively and cooperatively with other employees
Required Personal Protective Equipment
- Must have CSA Approved Steel Toe Boots, Hi-visibility vest, safety glasses, hearing protection, side impact hard hat and leather working gloves.
Education and Experience:
- Experience in operating and maintaining heavy equipment
- Valid Class 5 Driver’s license with clean driver’s abstract
- Valid Standard First Aid with CPR
- WHMIS & TDG Certification
