One (1) Temporary Full Time Seasonal

Wabasca, Alberta

Bigstone Ltd, an entity within Bigstone Group of Companies in Wabasca, Alberta is seeking a full-time temporary operator to join our talented team. This position requires an experienced, highly motivated, and dependable individual to assist with our gravel pit operations.

 

Duties and Responsibilities:

• Loading & hauling gravel
• Demonstrate skill and experience in the proper operation and maintenance of variety of light and heavy equipment, with safety practices in the operating of that equipment and two-way radio
• Daily Inspections on equipment and trucks
• Perform preventive equipment maintenance, to ensure proper operating conditions
• Report any malfunctions and repair requirements to the supervisor
• Enter daily logs/ documentation pertaining to daily duties
• Labour work as needed
• The ability to work alone and follow all safety procedures
• Other duties in pit operations as assigned by the supervisor’

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

• Must be a self-starter and able to work without supervision
• Decision making skills and problem-solving skills
• Effective verbal and listening communication skills
• Ability to manage time, multitask and prioritize
• Ability to read and follow written and oral instructions
• Ability to work effectively and cooperatively with other employees

Required Personal Protective Equipment

• Must have CSA Approved Steel Toe Boots, Hi-visibility vest, safety glasses, hearing protection, side impact hard hat and leather working gloves.

Education and Experience:

• Experience in operating and maintaining heavy equipment
• Valid Class 5 Driver’s license with clean driver’s abstract
• Valid Standard First Aid with CPR
• WHMIS & TDG Certification
