Bigstone Ltd, an entity within Bigstone Group of Companies in Wabasca, Alberta is seeking a Temporary Full-Time Yard Man to join our talented team. This position requires a highly motivated, and dependable individual to assist with our gravel pit operations.
Duties and Responsibilities:
• Assist with maintenance and fueling of equipment when required.
• Report any equipment deficiencies or unsafe situations to supervisor.
• Shovel out areas too small for loaders to clean up efficiently.
• Check all fluids daily on all crusher equipment.
• General site housekeeping.
• Maintain communications with entire crew to ensure safe operation of crush plant.
• Perform other tasks as directed by supervisor
• Other duties as assigned
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
• Must be a self-starter with the ability to work independently
• Decision making skills and problem-solving skills
• Effective verbal and listening communication skills
• Ability to manage time, multitask and prioritize
• Ability to read and follow written and oral instructions
• Ability to work effectively and cooperatively with other employees
Required Personal Protective Equipment
• Must have CSA Approved Steel Toe Boots, Hi-visibility vest, safety glasses, hearing protection, side impact hard hat and leather working gloves.
Education and Experience
• No experience required, training will be provided
• Valid Class 5 Driver’s license with clean driver’s abstract
• Valid Standard First Aid with CPR
• WHMIS & TDG Certification
Salary is dependent on qualifications.
